New Orleans-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Foundation (NOBPF)
NOBPF provides support for activities of NOBPC. Directed by a community-based Board, NOBPF is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the advancement of psychoanalytic understanding of human life and behavior through community outreach, education, research, and clinical programs. NOBPF has sponsored popular fundraisers such as jazz concerts during APsaA and International Psychoanalytic Association meetings held in New Orleans.
The original foundation was formed in 1998, due in large to the initiative of Dr. Remi Gonzalez, and has since been a significant contributor to the community in the area of psychoanalysis. NOBPF has upheld initiatives of educational programming, as well as providing a variety of services to the community in pursuing psychoanalytic research and knowledge.
In the past, NOBPF has underwritten significant expenses incurred by NOBPC, namely the disruption of services and damages caused by Hurricane Katrina and the failure of the levees in New Orleans.
NOBPF is duly incorporated and registered with the Secretary of State in Louisiana and recognized as a 501(C)(3) tax-free organization by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
