To promote our mission of expanding psychoanalysis within our community, NOBPC is partnered with community organizations in the areas of arts, therapy, and education. We strive to develop new relationships with our community and invite you to be participate by attending and/or partnering with NOBPC.

Community Partners

To promote our mission of expanding psychoanalysis within our community, NOBPC developed partnerships with community organizations and universities including the New Orleans Film Society, Second Line Stages, Loyola University, Tulane University and Xavier University.

NOBPC faculty is involved in teaching psychotherapy courses for psychiatry residents and medical students at Louisiana State University, Tulane University, and the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Our faculty also serve as clinicians, teachers and supervisors on the faculties of LSU, Tulane, and UAB hospitals.

We provide training in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy for licensed mental health professionals.

Community Education

Lectures, Seminars, Study Groups

NOBPC hosts scientific meetings, workshops and seminars for clinicians and non-clinicians to promote the understanding of psychoanalysis in an effort to enrich the human experience for those in our communities.

Small topic specific study groups are held in both New Orleans and Birmingham.

Exploring Psychoanalysis Through Film

The artistry of cinema is an ideal medium for understanding human emotion, motivation and conflict. NOBPC is proud to be a part of Hollywood South, providing opportunities to view films through a psychoanalytic lens at venues like the New Orleans Film Festival and Second Line Stages.
